California’s Divided Housing Market, As Told By 2 Maps

A recent deep dive into California’s housing market revealed an interesting dichotomy: while Southern California’s house prices are rising above their 2022 peak, Northern California home prices show the opposite trend.

Will housing prices in Northern California return to their previous peak this season? Only time will tell, although some experts expect them to eventually.

Food for thought:

Despite the relative drop in NorCal’s home pricing, many consider the real estate landscape to be a seller’s market. With some experts predicting house prices to rise steadily over the year's second half, mortgage rates to stabilize in the coming months, and realtor fees to go down, it might be a good time to consider buying a property.

Home Prices In Sonoma County Likely To Rise In 2024

While NorCal grapples with heavily discounted house prices, Sonoma County is expected to experience a rise in house prices in the second quarter of the year (April-June).

A steady rise is expected despite the high interest rates, and experts share that this is due to a sudden shift in supply and demand. Overall, it looks like Sonoma County house sales are heating up along with the weather.

Food for thought:

Open houses are more strongly attended in Sonoma County now, and buyers are getting serious about making offers on this region’s homes. It’s important to understand that all Sonoma has to offer, from great places to work to family-friendly communities, makes it a great place to buy residential property.
